Abstract


Objective: This study is to identify factors influencing the dental caries on Adults¡¯ Mental Heath.

Methods: There was significantly different in the family income and educational level factors for decayed, missing, and filled (DMF) rate, and age factor, educational level and the smoking and the drinking level for decayed, missing, and filled perma-nent teeth (DMFT) index, as different in factor of the age married state for male but the age and the educational level for fe-male, among them.

Results: According to the relationship between the mental health factors and caries experience, DMFT index and DMF rate were related with the depression disorder in male and in total subjects. Such factors as the age, family income and the de-pression disorder could influence to DMF rate in total subjects. It was considered that the depression disorder among the mental health factors, could influence to occur the dental caries directly or indirectly.

Conclusion: It was recommended to provide the comprehensive caries prevention program and proper oral health education for dental patients with mentally problemed person.
